This Weekend Oct. 22-24: Pumpkins, Art & Soul

It's that spooky time of year again.  And what kind of Halloween would it be without a pumpkin?

Bring the family and pick out your perfect pumpkin at Unity Park's 10th Annual Pumpkinfest this Sat, Oct. 23 from 11 AM to 2 PM. Decorating stations, a costume parade and music will be provided by DJ Rebel X for this free event.

Come early to be sure to get a pumpkin while supplies last.

For all you art lovers out there, if you haven't made it to the Art Loop Open yet, this Saturday is the perfect time to check it out.

Join esteemed artists Tony Tasset (Artist responsible for "The Eye" on State Street), Juan Angel Chavez (Artist, Sculpture Professor, SAIC) and Logan Square's own Lynn Basa (Artist, Author and Professor, School of the Art Institute) and as they discuss public art within the context of Art Loop Open. The lively discussion will be moderated by I AM Logan Square Board chairman and Chicago Artists' Coalition executive director, Carolina O. Jayaram.
