Weekend Write Up: September 17, 18, 19

Date Night? Looks like Logan Square is the place to go for romance...
Congratulations to Lula Cafe and Longman & Eagle, who were named 2 of the Top 5 Restaurants for a first date in Chicago according to the Hungry Hound, Steve Dolinsky. Read the story here.

And while you're at Longman & Eagle [on your date of course] you'll be sure to notice their new fall menu filled with comfort-food inspired seasonal menu fare. Just added: Maple Braised Ham Hock w/Collard Greens, Creamy Grits, & Chanterelle Mushrooms.

Finish your evening with a Friday Night Dance Party at the Whistler, featuring a rotating cast of DJs from the greatest radio station in Chicago, CHIRP (Chicago Independent Radio Project) who will play a mix of everything from Soul to Hip Hop to Indie Rock bangers to Pop classics and beyond. Party starts at 9:30 PM.

For your art fix

Not your typical art show, there will be three separate spaces, featuring premiere artists, live music and other entertainers, as well as live models and live painting. Food will be available and drinks are available through Music Lounge/Humboldt Liquors.
