Weekend Write Up: September 3, 4, 5, 6

Happy Labor Day Weekend Everybody! Hope you're all prepared for fun end-of-the-summer gatherings with your friends and family :O)

And for those who are not quite sure of their plans....

The 32nd Annual Chicago Jazz Festival is this weekend and Logan Square's own The Grilly Brothers Sextet from Orchestra Hall Recording Studio will contribute to the fest with a live performance on Friday, September 3, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Randolph Cafe in the Chicago Cultural Center. (77 E. Randolph Street) For more details on The Grilly Brothers Sextet, please click here.

For those that want to *impress* their friends and family, take them to Lula Cafe for brunch on Sunday. After all, they do have the best pancakes around, not to mention their ecclectic menu has something everyone will love.

I AM Logan Square would just like to say, "Congratulations Lula for making it onto Travel + Leisure's top ten places to eat pancakes in America and Happy 11th Anniversary - We wish you many, many more!"

Sunday night, Cole's Bar
is hosting their movie night series, Cinema Minema. They will be showing Gus Van Sant's My Own Private Idaho, along with selling beer.cocktails.water.sprite.whateveryouliketodrink. Show starts at 8:00 p.m.

Expect it to be a little busier this week because of Labor Day on Monday.
